The Assignment:

In 2024, after helping STRAUSS establish itself as a brick-and-mortor shop in Los Angeles, the company entered a new phase: nationwide expansion.

We then helped create and refine a brand voice and develop content in a years-long partnership that has seen STRAUSS find new customers across demographics, market sectors, and geographies.

Scaling a premium European brand globally requires more than translating messaging — it requires regionally relevant positioning, consistent execution, and a fine-tuned cultural understanding. As a market leader in Europe, STRAUSS already had well-established operational abilities and resources, but expanding into a new market was about more than bringing those resources to bear. It meant convincing Americans to purchase high-quality workwear from a brand they did not know that produced clothing in a style they had never seen.

The Approach:

WestWord leaned on its extensive grasp of the US market to help STRAUSS decision-makers make informed decisions. We assisted STRAUSS in creating a national growth strategy grounded in customer insights, competitor research, and channel prioritization. We also supported the company’s existing strategy of successfully driving brand recognition through sports sponsorships and trade show appearances, supporting both with content and PR.

STRAUSS is now an established brand in the United States, with a growing market penetration and brand loyalty, particularly in the construction and farming sectors. Sponsorship initiatives supercharged brand recognition across the United States, supported by a growing social media presence that has a voice uniquely STRAUSS. Tradeshows have given consumers and industry insiders a first-hand look at STRAUSS’s growing list of American products. And STRAUSS’s e-commerce offering continues to expand, catering to an expanding number of American trades.
